A Legacy of Vision and Service
The Foundation mourns the loss of Eli Tullis, a founding benefactor, devoted volunteer, and steadfast friend whose vision and generosity have shaped the course of the Jefferson Scholars Foundation for more than four decades.
A 1951 graduate of the College, Eli played an essential role in the creation of the Jefferson Scholars Program in the 1980s. He served on selection committees, the National Advisory Board, and the Capital Campaign Advisory Committee, lending his insight and leadership to efforts that ensured the program’s independence and success. His abiding belief in the transformative power of merit scholarships left an indelible mark on the Foundation and generations of students who have benefited from his work.
The Foundation extends its deepest sympathies to the Tullis Family, whose continued engagement and support reflect his lasting influence. For those inclined, the family has asked that gifts be made in Eli’s memory to the Jefferson Scholars Program.
