Foundation-funded professor named 2026 AI2050 Senior Fellow
David Danks, the William L. Polk Jr. and Carolyn K. Polk Jefferson Scholars Foundation Distinguished University Professor of Philosophy, Artificial Intelligence, and Data Science, has been named a 2026 AI2050 Senior Fellow by Schmidt Sciences. Danks is one of six senior fellows selected worldwide for the 2026 cohort, which brings together leading researchers working to address some of the most consequential challenges surrounding artificial intelligence.
Through the fellowship, Danks will study how human values and AI systems influence and change one another over time. His multidisciplinary research will explore the implications of this evolving relationship and develop practical guidance for the design, development, and governance of AI systems.
