Astronomy

Bio:

Xinlun has been working on three different topics in the field of galactic astronomy, all of them related to galaxy disks. They are (1) exploring a warp in the outer disk of the Milky Way galaxy via the motions of its stars, (2) a somewhat complementary study of irregularities around the outer parts of the nearest other disk galaxy to us (the Large Magellanic Cloud), and (3) mapping the density of matter (both luminous and dark) by the motions of Milky Way stars.
