Bio:

Jon Shields is associate professor of government at Claremont McKenna College where he researches and writes about conservative scholarship. Shields’ research interests include Christianity and democracy, social movements, and the politics of bioethics. Shield’s most recent publication, “Trump’s Democrats,” co-authored with Stephanie Muravchik (NF ’06) was published by Brookings Press in October, 2020. Shields received his Ph.D. in politics from the University of Virginia in 2006 and completed his Miller Center National Fellowship in 2005.
