Bio:

Dr. Adam W. Dean is a 2010 graduate of the University of Virginia and Jefferson Fellows program. Dr. Dean is currently the John M. Turner Distinguished Chair in the Humanities as well as Faculty Athletic Representative, an official NCAA position that aids with compliance and student-athlete welfare. Dr. Dean’s book An Agrarian Republic came out in 2015 to wide acclaim from historians and the general public. He spoke on national TV in May 2016 about the book. Dr. Dean is currently working on two article on President Andrew Johnson that should be out in 2020. In December 2017, Dr. Dean and his wife, Dr. Kara E. Dean, welcomed twins into the world. Angus and Islay are thriving.
