The goal of Abbas Ghaddar’s dissertation project, “Single-cell deconstruction of the genetic networks determining animal health and disease,” is to develop and apply the tools and techniques necessary to build a single-cell gene atlas of a healthy and diseased organism, specifically modeling diet-induced obesity. In addition to his Ph.D. project, Abbas is working on a project aimed at uncovering a novel genetic and biochemical pathway involved in the aging process in C. elegans.
