George H. Seelinger is a Ph.D. candidate in the Department of Mathematics at UVA. He is currently working on research-level mathematics questions in algebraic combinatorics, a branch of mathematics that uses abstract algebraic structures to gain insight into various counting problems. Specifically, George is interested in problems about symmetric functions that can be applied to other areas of math, such as geometry. George holds a B.S. in mathematics and computer science and an M.S. in mathematics from Loyola University Chicago.
