Thomas Pfeifer is a Ph.D. candidate in mechanical engineering at the University of Virginia. He received both a bachelor’s and a master’s degree from the University of Wisconsin, Madison where he studied polymers, composites, and additive manufacturing. Following three years in the industry working in software development, Pfeifer returned to academia to apply his diverse background to the challenges found in the area of nanoscale heat transfer.
