Two Scholars were selected for research internships this summer as part of the German Academic Exchange Service

Mary Cotter, the Joseph Chappell Hutcheson Jefferson Scholar, and Anisha Jarang, the William L. and Carolyn K. Polk Walentas Scholar, are among four UVA students who held research internships in Germany this summer. Mary developed models of district energy systems using an open-source library while Anisha studied how electron beam irradiation can improve the material properties of bio-based and biodegradable polymers.
