Regional Competition & Schools

Eligible secondary schools may nominate one student per year from the senior class to be a Jefferson Scholar.

Most commonly, nominees participate in a regional competition with nominees from other local schools. A separate competition permits a review of all students, including international applicants to U.Va. and Nursing School applicants, attending schools not eligible to participate in the regional competitions.
