Challenge Discovery

Challenge DiscoveryAt the beginning of their first academic year at the University, all Jefferson Scholars participate in Challenge Discovery. This weekend-long outdoor leadership course not only encourages teamwork and trust, but also builds stronger and deeper friendships among the Scholars. Activities include two days of camping, low ropes work, rappelling, and team-building exercises.

“Challenge Discovery was a great opportunity to truly get to know some of my fellow Jeff Scholars.  While I had met everyone at least briefly by this point, perhaps nothing acquaints you better with someone than pushing off each other while blindfolded and forty feet up in the air in order to cross a rope bridge.  While we all had different levels of outdoor experience going into the weekend, I think we all came away feeling that we had accomplished something worthwhile.”–John Mark DiGrazia
