In the 2008-2009 school year, secondary schools in the following geographic regions may nominate a student to compete for a Jefferson Scholarship:

Students not attending school in one of these regions may still be eligible for nomination for a Jefferson Scholarship through the at-large selection process. At-large nominations are conducted through the University of Virginia Admission Office with a subsequent review and selection by the Jefferson Scholars Foundation.
