Michael Bateman, JS '19, is helping to build a global community that celebrates kindness

Michael Bateman, the Clarence S. and Florence F. Wright Memorial Jefferson Scholar, is doing his part to spread joy and kindness across Grounds—and the globe. As president of Unsung People, a student organization that collects and shares stories demonstrating random acts of kindness, Michael and a team of U.Va. students have built an online platform designed to spread positive human interest stories.
