The Jefferson Scholars’ Foundation and the Jefferson Graduate Fellows just finished the second biannual Forum for Interdisciplinary Dialogue.  The forum was held at the new Fellows Center on September 23 and 24, 2010.

The theme for the 2010 Forum was “Icons and Iconoclasm.”   W. J. T. Mitchell, Professor of English and Art History at the University of Chicago and editor of Critical Inquiry, served as the keynote speaker.  Scholars from the sciences, the humanities, and social sciences analyzed the ways cultures transform images into icons and then criticize their iconic status.
