“Few schools offered a package as comprehensive as the Jefferson Scholarship at the University of Virginia. Financial aid was definitely an important factor in my college decision, but the Jefferson Scholarship offered more than just money; I was impressed by the summer travel stipend, the supportive staff of the Foundation and most importantly, and the amazing students that would be joining me as Jefferson Scholars. Ultimately, it was these students who convinced me that Virginia was the right place for me and they have continued to be my support network throughout my years at the University. The Jefferson Scholars Program gives students the freedom to take advantage of all of the resources offered at our school without concern for financial constraints. It empowers students to fulfill their potential as leaders inside and outside of the classroom. I urge prospective students to come to the University with an open mind and give the school a chance to capture your heart.”
